Commercial FP&A Analyst

Save job

A growing business is looking for a Commercial FP&A Analyst to join their finance team in Amersham. This is a great opportunity to make an impact by providing commercial insights that support key operational teams and help drive dataled decisions. You’ll work closely with colleagues across finance, operations, and supply chain, contributing to growth initiatives, performance analysis, and financial planning.

What you'll do

As a Commercial FP&A Analyst, you’ll play an important role in supporting business performance through accurate reporting and analysis. Day-to-day, you’ll prepare trading and performance reports, support budgeting and forecasting cycles, develop Power BI dashboards, and partner with teams across the business to improve financial insight.

You’ll be expected to communicate your findings clearly, challenge assumptions constructively, and look for ways to improve processes. Success in this role means working well with others, staying adaptable, and taking ownership of your work while contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly reports to track business performance.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for key channels and categories.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and financial modelling for projects, promotions, or business initiatives.

  • Collaborate with operational teams to enhance reporting capabilities and align analysis with business priorities.

  • Act as a trusted partner to the wider business by identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Contribute to the development of Power BI dashboards and analytical tools.

  • Identify and support improvements to systems and processes within FP&A.

  • Assist with other finance projects or analysis as required.

  • Build positive working relationships across departments through clear communication and teamwork.

What you bring

You have experience in a commercial or analytical finance role, ideally within a fast-paced or product-led business. You’re confident working with large datasets, have strong Excel skills, and enjoy turning numbers into insights that support better decision-making.

You’re organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a changing environment. You communicate clearly and work well with people from different teams and backgrounds. You’re also proactive about learning—whether that’s developing your Power BI skills or progressing your professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).

Key skills and experience:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a similar commercial or financial analyst role.

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

  • Clear communicator able to present insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • Collaborative working style with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work under pressure.

  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or performance reporting processes.

  • Power BI experience (or willingness to learn) is a plus.

  • Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA preferred.

Why join

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values open communication, professional growth, and a balanced approach to work. The business promotes flexible working, offers generous pension contributions, and encourages continuous learning through structured training and development opportunities.

It’s an environment where collaboration and dependability are valued, and where you can build meaningful relationships while making a measurable impact on business performance.
