Financial Controller - Pre Series A

A very exciting start-up within the AI space is looking to making it first finance hire in the form of a Financial Controller.

The business is currently going through its Series A funding round that will give them the runway to launch, fully grow and scale. The role is a pivotal one, and will report directly to their CEO. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial management of the business, to improve the organisation's finance function and direct their accounting operations. The Financial Controller’s responsibilities will include accounting and financial reporting, assisting with budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal financial control policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills and be highly organised. They operate a hybrid model with 3 days in the office (Central London) and 2 at home. Culturally it is a very inclusive and dynamic environment to work in where everyone has a voice. The day to day duties will be:

• Manage all accounting operations day to day
• Develop and run the full budgeting and forecasting process
• Prepare the monthly management accounts
• A trusted business partner to the senior leadership team providing key insights and adding commercial value to key decisions
• Building and developing a best in class finance team
• Identifying and implementing a new finance system

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a fully Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or overseas equivalent)
• Be technically strong
• Have experience in working in a fast paced scale up environment
• Have experience in implementing a new system
