Financial Accountant - Liverpool, Merseyside - hybrid working with 2 days in the office - up to £45000.
Robert Walters are proudly partnering with a large, global financial services centre in Liverpool, Merseyside to recruit for a Financial Accountant to join their ever growing team.
A fantastic new opportunity has arisen in Liverpool due to an internal promotion for a Financial Accountant to join a multinational financial services centre. This vacancy is perfect for someone who has recently completed their ACA or ACCA qualification and looking for their first move into industry after audit and would like to build their accounting career.
You will play a crucial part in processing period ends, balance sheet focus and maintaining strong controls, there is a lot of focus on accounting practice and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and be confident in grasping controls and building relationships.
Responsibilities include:
•Serve as first point of contact for financial accounting matters
•Support and run period end processes with support from the Accounting Services Manager
•Focus on controls across the general ledger process and balance sheet reconciliations
•Working capital and cash flow reporting & analysis
•Exposure to technical accounting areas including IFRS16, hedging and general foreign currency management
•Supporting accurate completion of VAT and other statutory returns
•Working as part of the wider Accounting Services team, supporting the workload where needed
•Building and maintain business relationships
•Take ownership of data quality and seek for ways to improve processes and outputs
Skills and experience:
•ACA or ACCA qualified with audit background (0-2 years post qualified experience)
•Strong Excel skills
•Effective oral and written communication skills
•Proactive, organised, and strong attention to detail
•ERP system knowledge is useful but not essential
