Financial Accountant £40,000-£45,000 Derbyshire My client is currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant, based in Derbyshire, to carry out general Financial Accountant duties, ensuring ‘best practice’ and UK GAAP are adhered to. The Financial Accountant will also manage the internal control and audit environment, as well as assisting with the planning and implementation of the year end audit process.
Duties of the Financial Accountant will include:
• You will continually review the internal control and audit environment, highlighting areas of risk to the Group Financial Accounts Manager
• Liaising with external audit and tax partners to ensure the group financial accounts are successfully signed off, within the investor timescale
• You will prepare year-end audit files, consolidated statutory accounts and tax comps
• Balance sheet controls, reviewing monthly balance sheets, doing so alongside divisional management accountants and the payroll manager
• You will input and reconcile daily cash flow movements for review by the Group Financial Accountant
• Preparation and submission of VAT Return & Corporation Tax
• You will cultivate the stakeholder relationship with Banking and Invoice Financing Providers
• Preparation of Period End reports for inclusion in Management Information Packs
• You will complete Statutory Reporting Data submissions
• You will continuously seek out opportunities to improve processes, quality and accuracy of financial and management information, going on to implement strategies for improvements
• Carrying out ad hoc projects as required by senior management
• You will provide general guidance and support to the finance and administration teams when required
• Budget and forecast preparation support
• Compliance with UK GAAP, implementation of new standards and adherence to ‘best practice’ will be evident throughout all work produce
Skills required of the Financial Accountant Include:
• ACA or ACCA qualification is preferred
• Competent in using Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to be assertive and confident when interacting with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure, particularly when meeting deadlines
• Ability to foster and drive a culture of continuous improvement
