Senior Financial Accountant | Manchester City Centre Salary – £45 - 52, 000 per annum Our client is a mid-sized central government organisation based in Central Manchester. Overseeing a team of 5, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Accountant looking to make their next move to a Senior Accounting role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate that they have solid financial accounting skills and knowledge, as well as the ability to transform systems and ways of working to deliver high quality financial services.
You will have significant experience of working in finance at a senior level to deliver excellent financial services. Knowledge of UK Central Government accounting requirements would be highly beneficial but isn't essential.
You should also have experience of process improvement and finance/reporting system implementation in a mid-sized organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Resources, you will have excellent leadership and management skills. You will lead the organisations accounting requirements as well as manage the accounts payable and payroll functions. This is a hands on role that involves producing the year-end financial statements, advising on technical financial accounting issues, as well as ensuring compliance with our clients financial control framework.
The Senior Financial Accountant will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified and have experience as follows:
- You will have experience within a rounded, technical, financial accounting role eager to step up to a key managerial position
Experience of preparing financial statements
Experience of interpreting financial standards
Ability to analyse complex written material and identify and summarise key issues is essential
- Experience within public sector/not for profit sectors would be beneficial but not essential
- Experience of supervising/managing small teams desirable but not essential
- Exposure/knowledge around payroll would be highly desirable.
