Finance Manager

~~Robert Walters - Finance Manager / Project Accounting – Permanent – Hybrid – South Birmingham – £60,000–£65,000 per annum~~ Our client, a well-established organisation operating within a complex, project-led environment, is seeking a Finance Manager – Project Accounting to lead project finance activities and manage a small team of project accountants. This role offers a blend of strategic influence, hands-on project accounting, and people leadership within a supportive, high-performing finance function.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager – Project Accounting:

• Oversee the full financial lifecycle of multiple projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and reporting

• Prepare and review contract status reports, estimates at completion, and variance analysis in line with accounting standards

• Act as a finance partner to project and programme stakeholders, providing insights and guidance

• Lead process improvement initiatives within project accounting and support the implementation of best practices

• Deliver training and guidance to finance and non-finance colleagues on project financial management

Key essentials of the Finance Manager – Project Accounting:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)

• Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience

• Advanced Excel skills
