What you'll do:
As an Accounting Policy Manager, your role will be pivotal in establishing and maintaining accounting policies in accordance with relevant accounting standards (US and UK GAAP) while ensuring proper recognition of financial transactions. You will play a key role in providing guidance on complex accounting issues by conducting research and communicating these policies across the finance team. Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing financial statements for accuracy, researching complex accounting issues, assessing the implications of proposed business transactions or changes in policies. Your collaborative nature will be essential as you work closely with audit activities related to accounting policies.
- Developing, updating and documenting accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (US and UK GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring changes in accounting standards and assessing their impact on the company.
- Ensuring proper recognition and disclosure of financial transactions and events in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing financial statements and disclosures as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and standards.
- Researching and analysing complex accounting issues and transactions.
- Assessing the accounting implications of proposed business transactions or changes in accounting policies.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on accounting policies and standards.
- Providing training to finance and non-finance personnel on accounting policies, standards, and related matters.
- Collaborating with audit activities related to accounting policies, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Developing accounting processes, controls, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
