Financial Controller Salary: £75,000 DOE Location: Birmingham - Three days on site An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Financial Controller to join a global technology business. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic team, focusing on UK operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys working independently, and is comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

What you'll do:
As the Finance Manager, you will play an integral role in establishing best-in-class processes and reporting mechanisms to drive efficiency and scalability. You will manage all aspects of accounting operations while providing valuable insights into the structure of the business. Your responsibilities will also include producing detailed monthly reports on financial performance, developing financial business cases for new offerings, identifying operational improvements, and ensuring compliance with all external obligations. This role requires an individual who can work independently yet collaboratively with teams across different continents.


• Establish and roll-out key business processes
• Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting and revenue recognition
• Oversee treasury management - cash flow management, including forecasting and cash collection
• Provide input and analysis on the structure of the business from a tax and balance sheet efficiency perspective
• Produce monthly reports and analysis on financial performance and KPIs
• Work closely with heads of departments to identify and explain variances on a monthly basis
• Assist in efficient capture and reporting of inter-company related activities
• Identify and address operational improvement and efficiency opportunities
• Ensure compliance with all external obligations including annual returns/filings and VAT returns

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller role is a fully qualified accountant with proven experience in financial control and management. You should have a track record of working in similar roles within Finance, preferably having helped set-up a new business or subsidiary. As a self-starter with a solutions-focused attitude, you will bring your exceptional communication skills and strong analytical ability to the team.


• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in financial control and financial management
• Hands-on, self-starter with a solutions-focused attitude
• Team player with confidence to interact with senior management across teams and cultures
• Exceptional communication skills (verbally and in writing)
• Strong analytical ability enabling interpretation of monthly, quarterly/yearly financial and operational results
• Understanding of local compliance obligations, including tax obligations
• Ability to assist in decision making in a complex environment, with an ability to prioritise effectively
