My client, a globally renowned architecture firm, are looking for a Finance Manager to join their head office in Central London.
Reporting into the Group Finance Director, the Finance Manager will take ownership for the management reporting for the UK business, whilst managing a junior assistant. The role is extremely broad and varied, and needs someone who is comfortable in an SME environment, and able to turn their hand to a number of different tasks.
The business is growing all the time, and no two days are the same. The Finance Manager will work closely with the project teams, and will need to have a strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition, profit recognition, as well as a a solid financial background.
This is an incredible opportunity to work with some of the most talented and reputable architects in the world, based on site at the London studio.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising the Finance Assistant, understanding their tasks, ensuring queries, tasks and issues dealt with accordingly.
Producing the full monthly Management Pack to include commentary.
Ensure month end tasks are completed on schedule and accurately.
Producing first draft of Financial Statements.
Ensuring the daily cash flow is updated accurately.
Being the first point of contact for projects with complex invoicing and understanding the invoicing process.
Understanding project costs to recharge and formulating a process for identifying and recharging them accurately
Overseeing the smooth running of payroll.
Implement any new accounting systems and champion systems across offices.
6 monthly production of cost rates.
Assist with the annual R&D tax credit process.
Ensure VAT return is produced and submitted.
Ad Hoc duties as instructed.
The ideal candidate:
- CIMA/ACCA qualified
- Strong experience in management accounting
- Architecture experience highly desirable, or creative/services environment
- Ability to thrive in an SME environment
- Integrity, organisation and able to push back to senior figures
