Great new role that has arisen as a result of internal promotion, Finance Manager - Indirect Tax working for this prestigious employer of choice based in Luton. Joining the Commercial Accounting team of this business, you will act as key interface between the Indirect tax accounting team and its internal and external customers to ensure that all accounting and reporting requirements relating to indirect taxes are met.
As Finance Manager - Indirect Tax for this prestigious employer of choice based in Luton your role will be varied and include:-
Responsible for the calculation of UK Margin Scheme and ensuring appropriate framework exists. The role will manage the preparation and submission of VAT returns for UK and overseas and other tax returns (e.g. PAYE settlement agreement (PSA), EC sales list) in accordance with fiscal and regulatory requirements.
You will also manage the excise duty compliance and deal with related issues. You will also work with Group tax to ensure the Divisions are compliant with group tax accounting and reporting requirements and act as the point of contact both internally and externally for all day to day indirect tax queries.
In addition you will also maintain the financial ledgers which support the indirect tax areas, overseeing the work of an offshore and two onshore accountants, ensuring that key controls operate effectively and working with commercial stakeholders to provide robust forecasts of working capital balances.
The role provides key support to the Financial Controller in the identification of activities to manage the cost and complexity of compliance with legal, statutory, regulatory and group policies and procedures. In addition, the role will work with group indirect tax to manage the financial risks resulting from VAT and other tax planning activities.
You will also act as the point of contact for external audit as it relates to indirect taxes providing high quality audit schedules on a timely basis as required and work with internal audit to identify and correct sub-optimal internal controls and operating procedures. You will be involved in ad-hoc projects within other areas of the business and assist in the corporation tax pack and statutory accounts reporting.
- Qualified accountant with PQE preferably with indirect taxes background
