Audit Manager

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Audit Manager to join their dynamic team in Watford. This role provides the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of medium to large clients, including some group audits. You will play a key role in overseeing audits, from staffing and reviewing files to client liaison, budgeting, and fee negotiations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of medium to large clients, including group audits.
• Book and oversee staff for each audit engagement.
• Review audit files, highlight key issues, and liaise with clients.
• Set budgets, negotiate fees, and manage invoicing.
• Track audit progress against budgets and identify causes of overruns.
• Participate in staff appraisals, performance reviews, and identify training needs.
• Engage in business development and networking to support firm growth.

What You Bring:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 2 years' post-qualified audit experience in a UK accountancy firm.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Proficient in IT and familiar with audit software (ideally CaseWare).
• Excellent communication and client liaison skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple audits, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills to identify key risk areas during audit planning and completion.
