Robert Walters are hiring for a Technical Manager, specialising in Audit and Assurance, for a world-leading professional membership organisation.
This is a full-time permanent role. The role is based in their office in Moorgate, London, with remote working available for 3 days per week.
The role comes with a salary of circa £75,000 to £77,000 plus a great benefits package (including family level private healthcare and 9% pension contributions)
Summary:
You will be supporting the company’s members at a time of rapid change in audit and assurance through the creation and dissemination of guidance and commentary. You will be contributing to the company’s reputation and influence in relation to ongoing reform of the UK corporate reporting system and proposals for the improvement of UK and international auditing and assurance standards and practice. Whilst working with politicians, legislators, government and NGOs you will be able to help shape the future of the UK audit profession.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop high quality guidance for members on relevant issues and developments through the creation and dissemination of guidance on high impact areas (such as new and amended standards and evolving areas of assurance, including sustainability and climate risk).
- Develop and communicate policy positions and thought leadership on key audit and assurance developments and proposals for change, building on relationships with member firms, the UK government, FRC/ARGA, IAASB, and other sector-bodies and policy makers.
- Promote news and guidance of topical relevance via the company’s daily newsletter, social media and other communication channels.
These responsibilities will involve working closely with other members of the audit and assurance team, expert committees and active member volunteers and other teams within the Reputation & Influence department, collaborating with other company departments to help identify issues of topical interest and the need for new guidance.

They are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAS).
Ideally you will have a broad understanding of developments affecting audit and assurance, an interest in emerging issues such as climate and sustainability assurance, and the ability to think strategically and focus resource to best effect. The role would suit someone who has undertaken roles with an emphasis on technical work.
Strong management skills would be preferred, and it would be also useful to have excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills as you will be dealing with senior stakeholders.
