Interim Site Accountant

Immediate Start !! Finance Business Partner / Site Accountant £350-400 per day Hybrid / Appleton, Warrington

Role Overview
The role provides commercial and financial leadership, governance, and insight, partnering closely with the Site Transport Manager. A key focus is collaboration with internal stakeholders and the customer to drive best practice, performance improvement, and value creation.

Scope of Role

• Full financial ownership of the site P&L and balance sheet

• Business partnering with site leadership and senior stakeholders

• Reporting into a senior finance lead

• Managing relationships with internal teams and customer representatives

Key Accountabilities

• Review daily, weekly, and monthly P&L performance with clear commercial commentary and variance analysis

• Produce customer-facing financial reporting with insightful performance narratives

• Complete nominal ledger activities including journals, cross-charges, and period-end reconciliations

• Deliver detailed performance analysis, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities

• Support and develop profit improvement initiatives with operations and the customer

• Prepare and present weekly and monthly financial and KPI performance packs

• Produce balance sheet summaries with robust reconciliations

• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles for both internal and customer reporting

• Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and financial governance

• Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial information

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• CIMA/ ACCA

• Proven experience in a similar commercial accounting role

• Background within logistics, transport, or a fast-paced operational environment

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Advanced budgeting, forecasting, and analytical capability

• Accuracy and transparency of reporting

• Ability to meet tight deadlines

• Quality of business partnering at site level

• Maintenance of a fully reconciled balance sheet
