My client, a leading UK logistics business, are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to come and join their offices just outside Chester. This is a truly unique role, bridging the gap between finance and commercial operations, and offers the opportunity to really shape the success of this industry leading business.

Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join their sociable and fast-paced team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide financial analysis and bid support, working closely with the Sales and Business Development team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in winning new business and supporting the financial reporting for new business won. This position involves creating P&L accounts, quantifying financial impacts and risks of new business, formulating commercial proposals, and creating supporting documentation.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will be instrumental in driving the company's success by providing critical financial analysis and bid support. You will work closely with the Business Development team, contributing significantly to winning new business. Your role will involve creating detailed costings for warehousing, transportation, and value-add services, formulating commercial proposals, and generating supporting documentation. You will also attend customer meetings to present commercial aspects of proposals.

  • Create detailed costings and profit and loss models for warehousing, transportation and added value services
  • Formulate viable proposals based on open book, tariffs and hybrid commercial arrangements as appropriate
  • Quantify the benefits of new business when integrated into existing operations
  • Generate documents and presentation materials to support bids
  • Attend customer meetings to present commercial aspects of proposals and answer finance-related questions as required
  • Work with the larger finance team to create accurate weekly costings for the new business won and existing customer base

What you bring:

  • Qualified accountant with experience in industry in a similar role
  • Experience of undertaking investment appraisals
  • Higher-level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Attention to detail and analytical approach
  • Experienced in general accounting practices
  • Comfortable working individually and as part of a team
