A well-known retail client is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to lead a motivated team of two, focusing on tracking, analysing, and reporting on EU Logistics and Customer Service costs. The successful candidate will be based in Peterborough, reporting directly into the Head of Supply Chain Finance.

As a Finance Business Partner, your primary responsibility will be leading a small but dedicated team in tracking, analysing, and reporting on EU Logistics and Customer Service costs. You will work closely with the Head of Operations and Fulfilment Centre leadership team to interpret metrics for reporting. Your role will also involve accountability for the month-end process, ensuring it is executed accurately and timely. You will report on monthly performance & variance analysis in line with operational KPI’s. Additionally, you will own the Monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and LRP cycles. Your role will also involve partnering with Logistics and Customer Service teams to optimise cost and improve speed, service, and cost. This position plays a crucial role in optimising decision-making across the EU Finance and Supply Chain functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of 2 direct reports in accurately tracking, analysing, and reporting on EU Logistics and Customer Service costs
  • Working closely with Head of Operations and Fulfilment Centre leadership team to interpret and utilise metrics for reporting
  • Accountability for month end process, executed to a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
  • Reporting and communicating monthly performance & variance analysis in the context of operational KPI’s
  • Ownership of the Monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and LRP cycles
  • Partnering Logistics and Customer Service teams to optimise cost and improve speed, service, and cost
  • Supporting with ad hoc analysis, commercial and operational project work

The ideal candidate for this Finance Business Partner role is a fully qualified individual with relevant Accounting/Finance experience ideally within the retail/FMCG industry. You should possess a high degree of initiative and ownership along with strong analytical skills that allow you to interpret data in various formats. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities. Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required; knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, Qlik systems would be advantageous.

  • Fully qualified individual with relevant Accounting/Finance experience ideally within the retail/FMCG industry
  • High degree of initiative and ownership
