Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Billing Team with accurate and timely billing and distribution to customers, in line with contractual terms and departmental deadlines. This role also offers the flexibility of hybrid working, allowing you to balance your professional commitments with your personal life.

As a Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's billing processes. Your primary responsibilities will include the timely and accurate creation of customer invoices, maintaining customer billing records, and ensuring all data is invoiced accurately. You will also be responsible for distributing invoices through various channels and handling any related queries from internal and external stakeholders. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in analysing and manipulating billing data from multiple systems.

  • Timely and accurate raising of customer invoices (recurring and one-off)
  • Accurately create, update, and maintain recurring customer billing records
  • Ensure all data received is invoiced accurately and efficiently daily, monthly, quarterly, annually & ad-hoc to departmental deadlines
  • Distribute generated invoices via post, email or onto customer portals
  • Take responsibility for in-depth analysis, manipulation of billing/invoice data from multiple systems
  • Work closely with internal & external stakeholders, managing queries and driving resolution whilst keeping all parties regularly updated

The ideal candidate for this Billing Specialist role will bring a unique blend of skills and experiences. You should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work. Your excellent organisational skills will enable you to manage your time effectively, prioritising tasks as needed. Strong written and spoken communication skills are essential for building rapport with different stakeholders. Previous experience in invoice creation, advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of VAT rules in relation to sales invoicing will be highly advantageous.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in creation of customer invoices either as part of a dedicated billing role or within the wider finance function
  • Intermediate – advanced Excel skills
  • Exposure to VAT rules in relation to sales invoicing is highly advantageous
