Financial Controller

I’m working on a Financial Controller role for a large UK company. It’s a hands on divisional FC position with end-to-end responsibility for finance and a team of 10 direct reports, while Group handles consolidation, payroll and tax — so it’s very much about leading the function and partnering with the business.

Purpose of the Role/Role Overview:

  • Ownership of ledgers for four operating companies and one holding company
  • Day-to-day management of finance function
  • Manage core finance team of 7-10 staff
  • Ownership of management reporting

General Duties/Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management reporting pack with variance analysis
  • Support audit work for statutory accounts
  • Oversee monthly payroll submission to Group
  • Maintain reconciliation with operating system
  • Calculation of WIP/accrued income/deferred income
  • Oversight of overdue debt
  • Calculation of 13wk cashflow submission
  • Management and development of AP/AR teams
  • Production of balance sheet reconciliations for five entities
  • Preparation of annual budget
  • Develop and maintain necessary controls, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • First rate communication skills, able to develop and maintain relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work to deadlines whilst paying attention to the detail
  • Qualified accountant

Experience:

  • Experience managing a finance function

Please note, the office is commutable for those in North London, North East or East London as sits just within the north London area. The candidate would need to be in office 4 days, 1 day wfh.
