Head of Financial Control

Robert Walters have partnered with a global service based organisation, who are seeking an experienced Head of Finance Control to lead all accounting, tax, and compliance activities across their UK entities. This is a pivotal role within the Finance team, offering the opportunity to shape processes, develop and build a high-performing team, and support the business through its ambitious growth journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own financial reporting accuracy, integrity, and timeliness for 8+ UK entities (and growing).
• Oversee tax and regulatory compliance, including corporate tax submissions, VAT, audits, and statutory filings.
• Design and implement robust internal controls and standardised workflows to drive efficiency.
• Optimise working capital performance and cash flow forecasting.
• Lead ERP migration projects (Business Central) and ensure system excellence.
• Build and mentor a high-performing Finance Control team capable of supporting future M&A activity.
• Act as a key business partner to senior stakeholders, providing actionable financial insights.

Experience and qualifications:

• Professional Qualification: ACA , CA or ACCA qualified is essential.
• Experience: Background in Big 4 or medium-sized UK accounting practice, with 5+ years industry/multi-entity experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting, reporting, internal controls; familiarity with Business Central, Tagetik, or ERP migrations is advantageous.
• Leadership: Proven ability to build and develop teams while driving change in a growing organisation.
• Mindset: Proactive, hands-on problem solver with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
