Role details

A leading manufacturing business in Warwickshire is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance operations. As Financial Controller, you’ll manage all aspects of the finance function, from maintaining accurate ledgers and delivering month end reporting to leading budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, efficient reporting processes, and full compliance with audit, banking, and legal requirements.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while maintaining robust internal controls and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts in partnership with senior management, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Manage cash flow effectively by monitoring income and expenditure, identifying trends, and implementing measures to optimise resources.
  • Support external audits by preparing documentation, liaising with auditors, and addressing queries promptly to facilitate smooth audit processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, promoting open communication and trust within the finance function.
  • Implement process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in all financial operations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies through regular review of procedures and documentation.

What you bring

  • Fully qualified accountant.
  • Proven experience in a similar Financial Controller role.
  • Experience in preparing budgets, forecasts, statutory accounts and supporting external audits through effective documentation management.
  • Proficient in excel and confident working with ERP systems.
