Our client is seeking a Management Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, with three days per week based in Lancashire
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and associated reports, including profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flows, variance analysis, key performance indicators and supporting commentaries. This role requires excellent analytical skills, strong accounting acumen and the ability to communicate financial data effectively.
As a Management Accountant, your primary responsibility will be the preparation of monthly management accounts and associated reports. You will also be tasked with communicating complex financial data to non-financial managers, requiring excellent communication skills. Your role will involve liaising with key budget holders to gain a better understanding of expected costs, as well as working closely with the commercial team to understand new deals. You will adopt a proactive approach to your role, constantly seeking ways to add value to the business.
- Prepare and present management accounts
- Prepare monthly balance Sheet reconciliations in accordance with agreed Group accounting policies
- Communicate and interpret financial data to non-financial managers
- Liaise with key budget holders to understand expected costs
- Work proactively to add value to the business
- Liaise with external auditors, providing any information required
- Perform ad hoc analysis and investigative work
The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from previous roles within a management accounting function. You should have a good understanding of management accounts and balance sheets, coupled with strong accounting acumen. Your excellent analytical skills will be put to good use in this role, as you'll be required to perform detailed analysis on a regular basis. Experience of Access Dimensions would be advantageous but is not essential. You should be adaptable and flexible, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Part Qualified Accountant or strong academic background in Accounting or Finance
- Good understanding of management accounts and balance sheets
- 2-3 years experience in a management accounting function
- Strong accounting acumen
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience of Access Dimensions would be advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Adaptable and flexible attitude
