Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager the purpose of the Finance Analyst role based in Newton-le-willows is to support the business with analysis that helps drive performance improvement and achievement of targets and providing insight and analysis to Operational management through the production of bespoke reporting.

The role will involve interaction with commercial and operational teams as well as the wider Finance teams.

Key Accountability's

To produce, interpret and analyse standard reports that accurately reflect a true and fair view of business performance, providing commentary and business solutions to problems.

To support Senior Finance Manager, Category Management and Asset Management teams with periodic and ad-hoc analysis including supporting on monthly Performance Review Meetings and Investment Committee report production.

Running monthly Performance Review Meetings with Category Managers and delegating for Senior Finance Manager on other key stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.

Analysis of product profitability and development of methodology to drive more informed investment divestment decisions.

To support the Senior Finance Manager with the budget/reforecast process for asset and product category performance, with ownership over agreed areas and stakeholders throughout the process.

Analysis of customer and product spend, utilisation and profitability, identify and make recommendations for change to improve business performance.

Trend analysis of underperforming business units to support the development of business improvement plans, including relevant financial modelling and report building.

To assist in the preparation for the half year and year end external audit for the UK&I trading areas

Interrogation of the data and reporting to ensure accuracy of results, including reconciliation between data sources.

To undertake any other analysis/projects as required by either the Senior Finance Manager or the Head of Operations Finance.

Ad-hoc analysis as required by the business, expanding on the reporting they already receive.

Work with both structured and unstructured data and be able to deliver quantifiable analysis with both.

Experience & skills required:
Part- qualified accountant
Strong proficiency in Excel, preferably with relevant financial modelling experience
Ability to understand and interrogate data quickly and accurately
Working Knowledge of SQL
Power BI experience desirable
Excellent communication skills both internally and externally with customers.

The Finance Analyst role is Hybrid 2-3 days in the office based in Newton-le-willows
