An outstanding opportunity awaits for an Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join a thriving Transaction Shared Service centre based in Bolton. You will play a pivotal part in the end-to-end Order to Cash process, supporting the finance department as the business continues its journey of improvement and growth. .

As an Accounts Receivable Team Leader based in Bolton, you will be responsible for guiding a team of specialists through the full Order to Cash cycle. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing workloads, conducting performance reviews, monitoring processes for accuracy, overseeing reporting duties, reconciling financial transactions, and identifying ways to improve procedures. You will also act as a point of contact for escalated queries from customers or partners, offering considerate support while collaborating closely with operational teams across the business.

  • Manage, train, and develop a dedicated team of Accounts Receivable Specialists, ensuring they complete all processes accurately and efficiently within set timelines.
  • Hold regular one-to-one performance reviews with team members, identifying training needs and providing guidance to foster their growth.
  • Oversee and distribute workload across the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), maintaining high standards throughout.
  • Monitor end-to-end Order to Cash processes, investigating any issues that arise and resolving them promptly to ensure smooth operations.
  • Take responsibility for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for areas under your remit, ensuring all information is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of sales, cash, card transactions, and other general ledgers relevant to the role, maintaining meticulous records.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Accounts Receivable function, implementing changes that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Escalate issues appropriately when necessary and resolve them in a timely manner to minimise disruption.
  • Provide essential support to internal and external customers and partners by addressing queries with empathy and professionalism.
  • Create and maintain user guides for all processes within your team, ensuring clarity and consistency in operations.

To excel as an Accounts Receivable Team Leader in Bolton, you will bring proven experience from similar roles within finance or shared services environments. Your background demonstrates not only technical expertise but also genuine compassion for those you work with—whether it’s guiding your team through new challenges or supporting customers with sensitive queries. You possess strong organisational skills that help you plan effectively while meeting deadlines reliably.

  • Minimum two years’ experience within an Accounts Receivable or Finance role—ideally gained within a Shared Services environment—demonstrating reliability and knowledgeability.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team with warmth and empathy while maintaining high levels of accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
  • Highly organised approach with strong planning skills that enable you to meet deadlines consistently without compromising quality.
  • Excellent communication skills that allow you to adapt your style depending on audience needs
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP is preferred; strong proficiency in Excel coupled with analytical skills is essential.
