The successful candidate will oversee a team of six assistants, managing the accounts payable function. What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity by managing the accounts payable function. You will be responsible for creating new supplier accounts, processing invoices, managing monthly reconciliations, and ensuring timely closure of purchase ledger. Your leadership skills will be put to good use as you manage a team of six assistants, conducting regular reviews and annual appraisals. Additionally, you will undertake ad-hoc analysis and projects to support the evolving needs of the business.

  • Manage and create new supplier accounts in accordance with group policy
  • Ensure supplier invoices are scanned, processed, and allocated for authorisation on a timely basis
  • Manage monthly supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any account anomalies
  • Ensure timely closure of purchase ledger at month end in line with management accounts deadline
  • Manage your team including regular reviews, annual appraisals and internal audit compliance
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and projects to support business needs

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accounts Payable Manager position brings significant experience from a similar role within a medium or large company. You have previously worked within an Accounts Payable function and have strong knowledge of accounting systems. Your proficiency with MS Excel includes using Pivot Tables and V-lookups. You are known for your investigative approach and can-do attitude that influences change. Your resilience enables you to thrive in organisations that are undergoing development and growth.

  • Experience working in a similar role within a medium/large company
  • Previous experience within an Accounts Payable function
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and intermediate MS Excel including Pivot Tables and V-lookups
  • Ability to influence change through an investigative and can-do approach
  • Resilience and ability to work in an organisation undergoing development and growth
