Accounts Payable Manager

The role is for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager with retail experience (stock, overheads and VAT), who is a strong self-starter comfortable quickly getting up to speed with the cash and payment demands. This person will play a key management role within the Finance team, supporting and driving the processes and controls of in all payable areas. You will need Accounts Payable retail experience.

Salary £45,000 - £50,000

As the Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for a team of 6, you will have direct reports of 2 AP supervisers.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager include:

• Oversee the production of accurate suppler payment runs, responsible for the review and first approval.
• Statement Reconciliations to be carried out on a quarterly basis Weekly international currency payments
• Oversee and manage the processing of stock invoices monitoring volumes so workload can be managed, matching discrepancies and receipting of stock by the warehouse
• Ensure employee expenses and advances are paid on time.
• Ensure regular statement reconciliation is carried out on all the accounts.
• Liaise with different departments regarding any queries that they may have and educate them on terms of payment etc.

The ideal candidate:

• Good working knowledge of Accounts Payable processes.

• Experience of dealing with various payment methods like BACS, CHAPs, Wire, Letters of Credit etc.

• Prior experience and comfortable with regular contact with senior management going over all AP issues

• Experience of managing or supervising a team.

• Flexible, to accommodate this fast pace, high demand position.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience of implementing change in the processes and/or system.

• Good working knowledge of Excel
