Our client based in Nottingham is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their high-energy team based in Nottingham. This position is paying £25-30k (DOE), and requires 5 days on-site per week. Standard working hours are 9am-5.30pm, however they can offer flexible working arrangements as well as excellent benefits.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Assistant based in Nottingham, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Your responsibilities will centre around managing both accounts payable and receivable processes, performing daily reporting tasks, handling customer orders and refunds with sensitivity, and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records. You will work collaboratively within a close-knit team that values open communication and shared success. The role offers you the opportunity to build strong inter-personal relationships while developing your technical expertise in accounting.   • You will manage accounts payable processes by accurately recording supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments.
  • You will oversee accounts receivable functions by monitoring incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances with consideration and professionalism.
  • You will perform daily financial reporting tasks to ensure up-to-date records are maintained for management review.
  • You will handle customer orders efficiently, providing prompt responses to queries and processing refunds with empathy and care.
  • You will maintain bookkeeping records in accordance with AAT level 3-4 standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
  • You will collaborate closely with other members of the finance team to share knowledge and support communal goals.
  • You will assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies through careful investigation and co-operation.
  • You will contribute to maintaining an organised filing system for financial documents, supporting easy access for colleagues when needed.
  • You will participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, share insights, and foster a sense of togetherness within the department.

What you bring:

To excel as an Accounts Assistant in Nottingham, you should bring proven experience in core accounting functions such as bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily reporting. Your background should include formal training at AAT Level 3 or 4, reflecting your dedication to ongoing professional growth.
