As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the London and Overseas offices, working closely with experienced colleagues in a supportive team setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production and thorough checking of client invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Post various client-related search fees promptly while maintaining clear records for audit purposes.
  • Check and code accounts payable invoices meticulously to facilitate smooth payment processes within the finance department.
  • Prepare intercompany recharge invoices for both payable and receivable transactions, including balance agreements and settlements between offices.
  • Assemble receipts, narratives, and coding for corporate credit card statements to support monthly reconciliations.
  • Report timekeeper statistics through weekly and monthly reports to provide valuable insights for management decision-making.
  • Support both the London and Jersey offices by collaborating closely with Senior Accounts Assistants on day-to-day accounting tasks.
  • Undertake various ad-hoc accounting assignments as required by lawyers, the Finance Manager, or Financial Controller to ensure seamless operations across departments.
  • Engage effectively with busy individuals throughout the organisation by providing dependable support in all aspects of accounts administration.
  • Contribute positively to the team environment by sharing knowledge and assisting colleagues whenever needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrate 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar accounts assistant or finance administration role within a reputable organisation.
  • Showcase excellent organisational abilities alongside strong communication skills that enable you to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Exhibit competence in using MS Office applications such as Excel and Word for data entry, reporting, and document preparation.
  • Display a pro-active customer-centric attitude focused on meeting tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
  • Possess the ability to use your own initiative when faced with new challenges or changing priorities within the finance team.
  • Be self-motivated with a willingness to learn from others while adapting quickly to different tasks as required by management.
  • Engage credibly with busy professionals across multiple departments by providing responsive support whenever needed.
  • Legal sector experience is desirable but not essential; candidates who have worked in similar regulated environments are encouraged to apply.
