A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a great team within a growing retail business based in Burnley. This an amazing opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to progress and grow in their career. You will be working closely with an experienced FD allowing you to gain a wider exposure to accounts!

Responsibilities

  • Daily bank posting and reconciliation
  • Finalise and issue sales invoices
  • Manage company accounts inbox
  • Request non-PO invoice approvals via DocuSign
  • Assist with monthly financial reports
  • Credit control, debt chasing, and monitoring credit limits
  • Circulate weekly debtor reports to management
  • Process weekly BACS payments
  • Reconcile supplier and credit card statements monthly
  • Oversee purchase ledger and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Manage monthly PAYE payments
  • Conduct credit checks for new customers
  • Perform ad hoc financial duties

What you'll need to succeed as an Accounts Assistant

  • At least 1 year’s finance experience
  • A basic knowledge of Excel
  • Exceptional accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Great team player with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Bank reconciliation experience preferred – not essential
