An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer in the heart of Manchester City Centre. What you'll do:
As a Finance Officer, your role will be integral to the smooth running of the finance department. You will be responsible for processing purchase invoices and sales invoices, completing VAT returns, post-event settlements, accruals, prepayments, assisting with the preparation of management accounts and other ad hoc financial reporting. Your excellent attention to detail will ensure accurate reconciliation of income and you will play a key role in managing petty cash. Your strong organisational skills will assist in maintaining records for accounting and VAT purposes.
- Process purchase invoices, matching them to purchase orders, checking coding and authorisations
- Complete payment runs by BACS
- Manage petty cash, including maintenance of floats, recording of receipts and reconciliation of balances
- Process quarterly VAT returns
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile income to the ticketing software, Spektrix
- Assist with processing month end adjustments, including stock, prepayments, accruals and deferred income
- Create monthly budget position statements and forecasts
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Finance Officer role will bring at least two years' experience in a similar finance or accounting role. Your accuracy and excellent attention to detail will be crucial in this role as you will be responsible for processing invoices, completing VAT returns and reconciling income. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders within the organisation. Your high level of organisation and motivation will allow you to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- At least two years' experience in a finance or accounting role

- Highly competent with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
