Interim Management Accountant

Senior Management Accountant – 6 Month FTC Salary: £60,000–£65,000 FTE

An established corporate organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join its finance function on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.

Following a restructure within finance, this is a key appointment focused on stabilising the management accounting function, embedding new ways of working and supporting the team through a period of change.

This is therefore more than a traditional BAU management accounting position. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable stepping into an evolving environment, quickly understanding existing processes and taking ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end process
• Produce accurate management accounts and high-quality management information
• Review journals, accruals, prepayments and key balance sheet areas
• Manage and develop members of the finance team
• Partner with senior stakeholders and provide meaningful financial insight
• Improve financial processes, controls and reporting
• Help embed a recently restructured finance team
• Support year-end, audit and wider financial reporting requirements
• Contribute to systems, automation and process improvement projects

The Ideal Candidate

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong end-to-end management accounting experience
• Previous experience managing or developing a team
• Confident operating within a changing or evolving finance environment
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Commercial, hands-on and comfortable getting into the detail
• Able to identify and implement process improvements
• Strong Excel and finance systems knowledge

This would be an excellent contract for an experienced Management Accountant or Finance Manager who enjoys coming into a business during a period of change, creating structure and making a tangible impact.
