Financial Reporting Accountant
~~Robert Walters – Financial Reporting Accountant – Permanent – Hybrid – Birmingham – £60,000–£65,000 per annum~~ Our client, a well‑established organisation operating in a regulated and complex environment, is looking to appoint a Financial Reporting Accountant into a key role within their finance team. This position will suit a technically strong, qualified accountant who enjoys ownership of statutory reporting, audit coordination and continuous improvement, while working closely with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Accountant:
- Prepare statutory financial statements and support group reporting requirements.
- Deliver accurate and timely month‑end close, including reconciliations, schedules and analytical review.
- Ensure financial reporting complies with group accounting policies and IFRS.
- Coordinate the external audit process, managing timelines, deliverables and audit queries.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of a robust internal controls framework.
- Provide technical accounting support for complex or judgemental areas.
- Build effective working relationships across finance and wider business teams.
Key essentials of the Financial Reporting Accountant:
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts.
- Strong audit exposure, either from practice or industry.
- Solid technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
