Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-focused Bookkeeper to join a growing team in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy, and is confident managing day‑to‑day financial operations. The role begins on a 6‑month temporary basis, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.
You’ll benefit from hybrid working, a supportive team environment, and a role with real ownership and variety.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Manage purchase and sales ledgers
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and cash postings
- Process supplier invoices and handle payment runs
- Prepare VAT returns
- Assist with month-end duties including journals, prepayments, and accruals
- Produce management reports as required
- Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Support ad‑hoc finance tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a dedicated bookkeeping or accounts assistant role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- Competent using accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Confident communicator who can build strong working relationships
- AAT qualification (desired but not essential)
