An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property Accountant to join a property investment and management company based in Central London, offering a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth running of service charge accounting, utilities billing, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable processes. Responsibilities:

* Take responsibility for preparing accurate service charge accounts for multiple properties, ensuring all charges are correctly allocated and reconciled.

* Manage utilities billing processes by liaising with suppliers and tenants to ensure timely and precise invoicing.

* Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain up-to-date records and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.

* Oversee accounts payable functions including processing invoices, managing payment runs, and maintaining supplier relationships.

* Collaborate closely with property managers and other internal teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

* Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing relevant schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.

* Utilise property management accounting systems such as Yardi or JD Edwards to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.

* Respond promptly to queries from tenants, suppliers, and colleagues regarding financial matters related to properties under management.

* Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations for transactions as required.

* Contribute to process improvements within the finance function by sharing ideas for greater efficiency and accuracy.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Demonstrated experience in property accounting is essential for success in this position as you will be handling complex portfolios.

* Familiarity with service charge accounting processes enables you to manage multi-tenanted properties effectively.

* Proficiency in utilities billing ensures accurate allocation of costs across different units or tenants.

* Strong background in performing bank reconciliations helps maintain integrity of financial records at all times.

* Experience managing accounts payable functions allows you to build dependable relationships with suppliers while ensuring prompt payments.
