Job Title - Purchase Ledger Assistant
Salary - £35k per annum
Location - Hertfordshire
Working Pattern - Hybrid
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the entire accounts payable process from invoice receipt through to payment, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all invoices and expenses are correctly coded, approved by relevant stakeholders, and processed promptly to maintain smooth financial operations.
- Reconcile supplier statements regularly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely and professional manner to foster trust with suppliers.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier accounts, taking responsibility for onboarding new suppliers and ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
- Oversee the payables inbox by responding to supplier queries with empathy and professionalism, providing clear communication at every stage.
- Support month-end processes by preparing accurate reports and assisting with reconciliations as required by the finance team.
- Identify issues within the purchase ledger process, troubleshooting problems independently while recommending improvements for greater efficiency.
Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience managing a purchase ledger or accounts payable function within a busy finance environment, showing reliability in handling sensitive financial data.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full procure-to-pay (P2P) process including invoice processing, coding, approvals, payments, and reconciliations.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues independently while resolving queries quickly and professionally for both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
