Assistant Management Accountant – Maternity Cover (9–12 Months)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
Hybrid: 2 Days Onsite per Week

We’re recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join a successful Leicester‑based business on a 9–12 month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent chance to step into a hands‑on role within a supportive and collaborative finance team.

The Role

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support the month‑end and reporting process while playing a key role in maintaining accurate financial information.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
• Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Supporting balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with KPI reporting and variance analysis
• Maintaining financial records and ensuring data accuracy
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Working closely with internal departments to resolve queries
• Assisting with year‑end audit preparation

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in an Assistant Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant role
• Is confident with Excel and comfortable working with financial data
• Has excellent attention to detail and enjoys improving processes
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Is available to start immediately

Part‑qualified or studying (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is desirable but not essential.
