Role details

A leading organisation in the Wholesale industry is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is a key technical role, offering exposure to complex intercompany accounting across multiple international entities and the chance to work within a high performing, knowledgeable finance function. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting, with a strong focus on intercompany reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support in line with FRS 102 and IFRS. The role involves close collaboration with global stakeholders, supporting month-end and quarter-end processes, and contributing to the strengthening of internal controls and overall financial governance.

Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

  • Process and reconcile intercompany transactions between global entities.
  • Prepare and review intercompany journal entries and recharges, maintaining meticulous documentation for audit purposes.
  • Ensure strict compliance with FRS 102 and IFRS accounting standards, as well as internal controls.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly intercompany reconciliations, proactively resolving any discrepancies that arise during the process.
  • Coordinate closely with international finance teams to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist with audit requests by providing relevant intercompany documentation and supporting materials as needed.
  • Support transfer pricing documentation efforts and manage intercompany agreements in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive improvements in intercompany processes and systems by identifying areas for optimisation and implementing best practices.

What the successful candidate will bring

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Relevant experience in intercompany accounting
  • Strong understanding of FRS 102 accounting principles
  • Wholesale or Retail industry experience is preferable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills foster effective collaboration within international teams
