Interim Financial Accountant – Reconciliations (6–9 Months Contract) Location: Salford (Hybrid) £55,000

A major UK organisation with multiple business divisions is seeking an Interim Reconciliations Accountant to support a high-profile simplification and transformation programme within their Record-to-Report function. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role suited to someone who enjoys untangling complexity, improving processes, and collaborating across a wide finance landscape.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll play a key role in cleansing and restructuring critical RTR data, ensuring complete alignment with new legal entity structures and enhanced control frameworks. Working closely with BAU teams, continuous improvement specialists and a systems implementation project, you’ll help prepare the business for a new reconciliation platform.

Your work will include:

  • Identifying and correcting data integrity issues across multiple divisions

  • Reworking balance sheet reconciliations into a new legal entity format

  • Investigating, documenting, and clearing immaterial reconciling items

  • Ensuring reconciliations meet strict validation rules ahead of system migration

  • Preparing high-quality data for loading into a new reconciliation tool

  • Providing regular progress updates and partnering with teams across finance

Who this will suit:
strong RTR exposure, exceptional attention to detail, and a love of problem-solving. You’ll be comfortable working at pace with large data volumes, confident with Excel, and motivated by driving accuracy, clarity, and improvement. Resilience, collaboration, and clear communication are essential.

Desirable experience:

  • High-volume reconciliation environments

  • Data cleansing or finance transformation projects

  • Oracle ERP exposure
