Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Accountant to support a major UK logistics operation during a key period. This role offers the chance to take ownership of site-level financial performance, partner directly with senior operational leaders, and play a central part in driving commercial decision-making. The Opportunity

You will be the main finance contact for the site, overseeing both internal and customer-facing reporting. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, the autonomy to influence performance, and the chance to improve processes and reporting standards. It’s a strong interim assignment for candidates looking to expand their commercial and business partnering experience within a complex logistics setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the daily, weekly, and monthly P&L while delivering insightful commentary and variance analysis.

• Complete core finance tasks including journals, cross-charges, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Present weekly and monthly financial and KPI performance to operational leaders.

• Partner closely with operations to shape forecasts, budgets, and profit improvement initiatives.

• Analyse key performance drivers and provide clear recommendations aligned to site objectives.

• Support continuous improvement across reporting, governance, and financial controls.

• Identify financial risks and opportunities and ensure decisions are underpinned by robust analysis.

What You’ll Bring

• ACCA/CIMA/ QBE

• Background in logistics or transport is desirable but not essential.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence operating with senior leaders.

• Excellent analytical ability and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

• High standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
