A leading organisation in their industry is seeking a Credit Controller to join their finance team based in Northamptonshire. This full-time position offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing you with the flexibility to balance office and remote work. As a Credit Controller, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate customer transaction records and supporting both UK and global credit control operations.

Job Title – Credit Controller

Rate - £180 per day (via Umbrella company)

Contract Length – 3 months+ (temp to perm)

Location - Northamptonshire

Working Pattern – Hybrid, 3 days in office with 2 days remote.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain tidy and accurate sales ledgers by ensuring all customer transactions are recorded correctly, including opening new accounts as required.
  • Liaise with customer contacts on a regular basis to ensure debts are received promptly, allocated appropriately, and reconciled against the ledgers.
  • Check and release sales orders daily while regularly reviewing and managing customer credit limits to mitigate risk.
  • Prepare and review sales ledger related balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring comprehensive understanding of the ledgers is maintained at all times.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders within the Sales teams to guarantee all transactions are reported accurately and efficiently.
  • Act as a primary contact for external audits by providing necessary documentation and support throughout the audit process.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller as well as the wider Finance function with ad hoc tasks and projects when needed.

Experience needed

  • At least three years’ proven experience in a similar credit control or accounts receivable role within a business-to-business environment is essential for success in this position.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for managing complex data sets, performing reconciliations, and generating reports.
  • Experience working with multi-currency transactions is highly desirable as it supports both UK-based and international operations.
