Transactional Finance Manager

What you’ll be doing:
As Transactional Finance Manager, you’ll be a key part of ensuring the organisation’s financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll oversee systems, purchase ledger, reconciliations, and statutory returns while supporting month-end and year-end reporting. You’ll also act as the go-to person for both internal colleagues and external auditors.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of Sage 50, ensuring all invoices and payments are accurately matched and coded.
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs, maintaining positive and professional communication with suppliers.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and keep all records up to date and accurate.
- Manage the scheme for subcontractors, ensuring monthly submissions are completed on time.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with current legislation.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring depreciation and asset records are accurate.
- Support month-end and year-end reporting by producing insightful management reports and performance summaries.
- Act as the main finance contact for annual audits, liaising confidently with auditors and the wider finance team.
What you’ll bring:
- At least three years’ experience in transactional finance or accounting, with a track record of accuracy and reliability.
- Advanced knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts is beneficial
- Good understanding of VAT regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills — able to manage multiple priorities with care and confidence.
- A collaborative working style with clear, open communication and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A professional, trustworthy attitude and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
