Systems Accountant

Our client is seeking a Systems Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role offers an attractive salary range of £70,000 - £80,000 and is based in Doncaster with occasional UK travel. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the implementation and deployment of finance and integrated systems, primarily Oracle NetSuite.

What you'll do:

As a Systems Accountant, your role will be integral to the finance team. You will be responsible for managing the finance system structures, collaborating closely with the IT/technology team on upgrades, rollouts and testing. Your excellent understanding of master data controls will ensure system compliance. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to identify potential risk areas and enhance controls where necessary. You will also provide invaluable training and support to non-finance teams. Your commitment to delivering the day-to-day operation and maintenance of finance systems will be crucial to your success in this role.

• Manage the Finance system structures, work streams, users and integration into associated business systems.
• Partner with the IT/technology team on upgrades, rollouts and testing.
• Maintain master data controls ensuring system compliance where necessary.
• Identify and escalate possible risk areas and enhance controls where necessary.
• Provide training and support, particularly to non-finance teams.
• Deliver the day-to-day operation and maintenance of finance systems.
• Support the processing and control of month end activities.
• Assist in defining new processes and evolve finance ways of working whilst keeping up to date on industry best practices.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Systems Accountant position brings extensive experience with Oracle NetSuite along with strong knowledge of Power BI / Tableau. A professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent is required. You have a solid understanding of best practices for finance systems structure as well as financial reporting and compliance. Your ability to take initiative coupled with your capacity to work independently makes you stand out. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role.
