Capital Accountant - Immediate Start

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Capital Accountant to join our finance team.

Location: Hybrid (Initially Fully Remote)

Reporting to: Head of Finance and Resources

Company Overview: A dynamic and rapidly growing organisation established in 2017 as part of a mayoral initiative to provide affordable housing across Salford and Manchester. The company has already delivered over 300 homes and has an ambitious target of reaching 3,000 homes in the near future. Operating as a registered provider (RP) since 2021, the organisation is dedicated to serving disadvantaged communities and ensuring high-quality, sustainable housing development.

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Capital Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting viability models and scheme feasibility assessments for multiple development projects, ranging from £5 million to £80 million. This role will be instrumental in ensuring financial sustainability and supporting the company’s ambitious housing delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain viability models for development schemes.
• Conduct financial feasibility assessments for housing projects.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Support funding applications and liaise with Homes England and other funding bodies.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure accurate capital accounting in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior stakeholders on financial planning.

Key Requirements:

• ACCA / CIMA / QBE (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in capital accounting, preferably in the housing sector.
• Familiarity with registered social landlords (RSL) and Homes England funding regimes.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders.
