An exciting opportunity has arisen for a diligent and professional Accountant in the heart of London. This role offers a competitive salary of £35,000 and the chance to work within a dynamic and supportive team. The successful candidate will have the overall responsibility for the accounting of 4 Business Centres up to Trial Balance, managing ledgers, processing invoices, preparing VAT returns and assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.

What you'll do:
As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our client's organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting activities are carried out in line with statutory requirements. Your daily tasks will include managing ledgers, processing invoices, preparing VAT returns, producing monthly P&L packs, providing general finance advice to centre staff, and much more. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent time management skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality results.
- Ensure the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting is maintained in accordance with statutory requirements for the Centres under your control.
- Manage purchase invoice approval system including approval of purchase invoices in accordance with delegation of authority.
- Produce monthly supplier payment runs and weekly ad-hoc payments.
- Manage the processing and reimbursement of Purchasing Cards (Bread for Business) and prepare monthly journal.
- Produce monthly P&L packs to monitor and report on Centre business rates, debtors and creditors, prepayments and accruals.
- Manage and complete quarterly VAT return preparation/reconciliation.
- Provide general finance advice and assistance to centre staff.
- Production of Quarterly Management Accounts and Annual budgets for each centre.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Accountant position brings along a wealth of experience in similar roles. You should be AAT qualified or equivalent as this is essential for the role. Having multi-entity experience would be advantageous. Your skill set should also include intermediate Excel skills, experience with SAGE 50, and a proactive focus on system and reporting improvements. You should have experience preparing accounts to trial balance and ensuring robust standard processes are in operation. - At least 2 years or more experience in a similar role.
- Multi entity experience preferable.
- AAT qualified or bachelor's degree equivalent essential.
- Actively studying towards ACCA / CIMA
- SAGE 50 experience is desirable.
- Intermediate excel skills.
- Proactive individual focused on system and reporting improvements.
- Experience in preparation accounts to trial balance.
- Experience of ensuring robust standard processes and high-quality controls are in operation.
