Our client is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Financial Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work under a hybrid model, providing support in various financial accounting tasks for multiple entities. The successful candidate will be involved in the preparation and filing of Statutory Financial Statements, Corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and more. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive and inclusive environment, where they can utilise their excellent communication skills and technical knowledge.
Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant
As a Financial Accountant, your role will be pivotal in supporting various financial accounting tasks. You will assist with the preparation and filing of Statutory Financial Statements, Corporation tax returns, and VAT returns. Your expertise will also be utilised in managing the fixed asset verification process. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in Month End Close (MEC) and Year End Close tasks. Your ability to liaise effectively with HUB contacts will be crucial. Furthermore, you will undertake specific tasks within the wider group of companies as required.
- Provide support in the preparation and filing of Statutory Financial Statements.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of Corporation tax returns.
- Help with VAT returns, Intrastat reporting and responding to VAT enquiries.
- Manage fixed asset verification process as required.
- Participate in Month End Close (MEC) and Year End Close tasks.
- Liaise with HUB contacts as necessary.
- Get involved in annual Insurance submission process.
- Undertake specific tasks within the wider group of companies where required.
What the successful candidate will bring
- Qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA
- Good understanding of Corporation Tax, Statutory Accounting & VAT
- Proficient Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to convey technical accounting and taxation issues in straightforward language
- Working knowledge and understanding of SAP is a bonus
- Previous audit experience would be useful
