MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT/FINANCE MANAGER
Salary is £45,000 - £55,000

Our client, based in High Wycombe, are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant. This role offers the opportunity to work in an industry at the forefront of energy efficiency and decarbonisation. This position incorporates a mix of financial accounting activities alongside management reporting and commercial analysis. This role has the potential to very quickly grow into a Finance Manager role as there is a lot of opporunity to make a big impact.

What you'll do:
As a Management Accountant, your role will be key in supporting the Managing Director. You will be responsible for processing the transactions which underpin reporting, providing analysis and insight on business performance, and helping deliver improvements/automation to reporting. Your ability to handle large data sets, reconcile accounts, and communicate effectively across the business will be crucial in this role.
* Ensure financial transactions are recorded and reported correctly
* Record project-based costs and revenues to report project profitability
* Operate credit control processes to maximise cash collections from customers
* Deliver monthly close process in a timely manner
* Assist with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
* Prepare & reconcile VAT returns for review prior to submission
* Implement a new accounting system to deliver improved processes and stronger reporting

The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant role is someone who brings strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, adaptability, and a proactive approach. Your creative problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities will be essential in this role. As a team player, you should be able to work independently while also being eager to learn and develop new skills. My client is looking for someone ambitious and who can look at the current processes and find a more efficient way of doing things. You will get exposure to working closely with the MD and be involved with strategic decision-making.
* Minimum three years’ experience as an accountant
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or an ambitious Part Qualified Accountant
* Excellent reconciliation and analysis skills
* Strong Excel skills with understanding of how to handle large data sets
* Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
