Interim Senior Management Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Interim Management Accountant to cover a 9-month maternity leave for a £50 million turnover business. Reporting directly to James, our appointed Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial stability and integrity of the company during this period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Conduct comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments and accruals.
• Lead the finance team, comprising one Financial Accountant, one Management Accountant, and two administrative staff.
• Enhance the management accounts and board pack to provide greater financial insight.
• Develop and maintain a detailed cash flow forecast, with comparisons to budget and actuals.
• Create and manage a stock tiering policy, emphasising key commercial KPIs.
• Lead the external audit process with Alexander + Co, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Oversee VAT and tax compliance, including UK, EU, and US regulations.
• Facilitate internal upskilling sessions to enhance non-finance employees' understanding of financial reporting and business performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in a senior management accountant role, ideally within a medium to large-sized business.
• Fully Qual ACCA/ACA/CIMA
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Navision
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage the finance team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to provide insightful financial commentary.
