The Financial Accountant will perform a variety of tasks to support sound financial discipline and control. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager you will work closely with the wider Financial Reporting team.

The Financial Accountant will prepare routine management and statutory accounts for various entities as required, provide information and support to budget holders across the business as well as analysing financial data to support operational budget control and projects
Key responsibilities

Production and ownership of period end management accounts, including prepayments and accruals

Preparation of monthly budget cost variance analysis
Cashflow forecast preparation and monitoring
Preparation of intercompany reconciliations, ensuring completeness and consistency
Preparation of monthly cost reports for Directors and budget holders
Maintaining Balance Sheet controls including performing monthly reconciliations
Support with statutory compliance i.e., preparation of VAT return, Financial Statements
Assisting with the preparation of annual budget and reforecast by providing and preparing necessary reports and templates
Maintaining budget holder records drive automated expenditure review and authorisation
Reviewing supplier and expense payment runs
Assisting the Finance Manager with providing comprehensive responses to external auditors Provide support for ad hoc finance projects as they arise
Other accounting, reporting, analysis and reconciliation work as required

Knowledge, skills & experience

Recognised accounting qualification, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
Strong accounting background
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a confident & professional manner
Flexible, adaptable and motivated team player
Strong Excel skills including advanced functions
