Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join their dynamic finance team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn new skills in all transactional areas of finance, supporting the wider function. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with international customers, handle multi-currency transactions, and contribute to various ad-hoc finance tasks. What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting various financial operations within the company. Your responsibilities will span across different areas including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash & Bank. You will be involved in intricate tasks such as matching POs to stock invoices, resolving invoice queries, assisting with revenue reporting, managing the Accounts Receivable inbox, developing credit note policies, and assisting with month-end reconciliations. This role requires a high level of commitment, excellent communication skills, and a 'Better Never Stops' attitude.

  • Provide support to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash & Bank teams within the business
  • Handle matching POs to stock invoices and dealing with any discrepancies
  • Assist with raising and sending customer invoices and credit notes for UK and international customers
  • Ensure invoice queries are resolved efficiently
  • Responsible for allocation of cash to customer accounts
  • Assist with revenue reporting and maintain good internal and external working relationships
  • Experience with international customers, and billing from non-UK entities
  • Help manage the Accounts Receivable inbox
  • Develop strict and workable credit note policies and processes
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Assistant role brings a wealth of experience in reconciliations and has worked extensively with relevant financial systems. They should possess excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word. They will communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. They are motivated to nurture relationships within the company as well as with external stakeholders.

  • Proven knowledge and experience in Reconciliations
  • Experience of working with relevant financial systems
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience of providing excellent customer services to staff and external parties
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
