An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Management Accountant to join a growing international finance team based in Cheshire.

This role offers the chance to work within a vibrant environment, focusing on delivering month-end, budgeting, forecasting, ad hoc project work, as well as the enhancement of current financial controls/processes and audit requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analysis and reporting for balance sheet accounts, supporting optimisation and improvement of finance processes, and assisting with the development and improvement of management reporting. The successful candidate will also act as finance business partner to the product development team, offering fantastic insight into the world of pharmaceuticals.

What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, you will play an integral role in delivering key financial processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing month-end close activities, preparing balance sheet related items, assisting with variance analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring adequate financial controls are in place, liaising with auditors, preparing annual tax returns, and providing additional information for half-yearly and yearly ends. You will also have the opportunity to contribute towards enhancing current financial controls/processes.

  • Perform month-end close activities and communicate financial results in a timely manner
  • Prepare month-end results for balance sheet related items
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis through accurate, timely and relevant reporting
  • Support the delivery of the budget and forecast processes to meet both internal finance deadlines and group deadlines
  • Work with Group Finance to understand reporting requirements and optimise finance processes
  • Ensure timely completion of baseline controls
  • Be the primary point contact of contact for the auditors working with Finance team
  • Support in the preparation of annual tax returns
  • Prepare additional information for half year and year end including disclosures, tax pack and insurance renewal

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position will bring experience in management accounting, financial processes along with advanced MS Office skills. You should possess strong analytical abilities coupled with excellent planning skills. Good communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be liaising with various senior stakeholders. A relevant chartered accounting qualification is a must. Experience in Oracle or other ERP systems would be beneficial. The ability to work well in diverse global teams and strong organisational skills are also key to succeed in this role.

  • Experience working within a diverse and complex global team organisation
  • CIMA/ACCA qualification
  • Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Good communication and presentations skills
  • Experience in Oracle, other ERP systems e.g. SAP
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders internal and external
  • Detail oriented, strong organisational and time management skills
