About the job:

Working within Business Management team, you will assist on the successful management of key client accounts. This includes leading the wider accounts team, overseeing end-to-end accounts preparation (including bookkeeping), preparation of VAT Returns, maintaining sales and purchase ledgers and ad-hoc project work as requested by the client.

You will report directly to the Business Manager and provide additional support to the wider senior leadership team as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the management of a large portfolio of clients, including direct client contact via in person meetings & via MS Teams.
• Building strong working relationships with a variety of clients within your portfolio.
• Strong technical knowledge is required to review financial statements prepared by the team and provide review points for the purpose of accounts completion and to comply with relevant accounts legislation.
• Managing deadlines to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard.
• Working with other senior members of the Business Management team across Manchester & London offices.
• Managing junior team members, providing relevant training and support when required.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Having a working understanding of tax accounting and liaison with tax department.
• Preparation of corporation and personal tax computations.
• Manage client billing and review work in progress.

Personal Specification:

• ACCA qualified or equivalent through experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with bookkeeping on accountancy software (Xero is preferred but not essential).
• Experienced in the preparation of VAT returns.
• Working knowledge of tax accounting.
• Knowledge of preparation of a large portfolio of client accounts.
• Experience managing tight deadlines.
• Experience in team management.
• Good understanding of personal and corporate taxes
• Confidence in giving advice and working directly with clients.
