Our client is a leader in their sector. They are looking for a Financial Accountant to join this expanding business based in Chester on a hybrid basis.
Description
A key responsibility for the Financial Accountant is the statutory accounts and consolidation (from Audit Packs to Statutory Accounts). Part of the roles purpose is to streamline the month-end process with the end goal of concise, swift audits. A brief oversite into the process/ responsibility • Before year-end (end March) – Roll forward audit packs and populate with December TBs. Perform some population of data and attempt to clear any identifiable issues • Year-end – Populate packs with final TBs, complete some straightforward schedules, then pass to Reporting Team for full population. Once they have completed them, perform review before releasing to auditors. • Audit – Manage resolution of queries, some of which can be resolved by the Financial Accountant, and some will need passing to Reporting/Divisional Finance. • Audit Close – Ensure a clear trail is produced from Management Accounts to Statutory Accounts numbers. • Post-audit – Review statutory accounts, assist with posting of audit adjustments. • Between Audits –Ensure new acquisitions are liaised with to ensure they are ready for audit.
Key requirements • A qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA or equivalent). • Have prior experience in audit and statutory accounts. • Self-driven with a growth mindset allowing them to approach challenging situations with confidence. • Prior experience in large groups and strong excel skills is preferred but not necessary. • A first-time mover from practice or a strong background of relevant industry experience. With this being a new role within the company there is the potential for an ambitious and driven individual to make a drastic and tangible impact on this rapidly expanding company.
